LNC meeting - on Potential Conflicts of Interest
My apologies -- like Scott I misinterpreted these motions as items
being proposed for consideration and voting now. Please consider my two
proposed amendments below as submitted items for the LNC meeting.
Here is specific language for my second motion below, since I should
have proposed specific language:
"This template is a non-binding document to assist the chair in preparing
agendas, and not a format which must be absolutely followed."
Love & Liberty,
((( starchild ))) At-Large Representative,
Libertarian National Committee

to add the language "and guests" to the second sentence, and to allow a form
of distribution that saves paper, so that the revised sentence reads:

guests at each regular LNC meeting, either in the form of a paper handout or
an announcement of where the document may be viewed online, with at least
one paper copy of the list always made physically available at the meeting
to be viewed by attendees."

made in my previous message, I also move to add a third sentence:

National Committee, and thereafter shall take the form of a non-binding
recommendation which each future LNC may choose to either ignore or make
binding for its term."

template when it comes to setting meeting agendas, so long as there is fair
opportunity for everyone's items to be included. This template is the kind
of thing that has stretched the LNC Policy Manual to 72 pages.

template be labeled as a suggested way of ordering the agenda, and not a
binding rule.

permanent binding rules ought to be added to the Bylaws, where party
delegates can vote on them, and the manual itself should consist of the
rules which each LNC passes to make binding on itself, for that LNC term
only. If we allow these rules to be binding on all future committees, I
believe we will continue to see the Policy Manual mushroom in size, and that
it will increasingly pose the danger of constituting an end-run around the
Bylaws and the proper power of the delegates to oversee the party. After a
given term of the LNC, all its rules could remain in the Policy Manual, but
simply be downgraded to recommendations.

potential conflicts of interest without a coherent list. I also cannot tell
where this language should be inserted into the Policy Manual, because I
don't get how and why it's structured.
