[Lnc-business] Transparency on LNC votes to fill vacancies

Dan,

As representatives, I believe all our votes including elections should be by roll-call vote, not secret ballot or voice vote. Secret ballots are appropriate for rank-and-file voting, but I do not believe they are appropriate for elected leaders. Therefore I must oppose this motion as written.

Even some who advocate secrecy when it comes to online discussions have stressed that all our actual business should be transparent, and voting to fill vacancies clearly falls into that category.

Love & Liberty,
                                ((( starchild )))

The election shall be conducted by secret ballot, unless two thirds of the voting members indicate by voice vote (or by show of hands if necessary) that they wish to conduct the election by voice vote instead of by secret ballot. Multiple vacancies may be simultaneously filled by a single voice vote (if that method is selected).
