It would still be exclusionary, not only to small parties, but to
independents. The public may respond to being shown that it would forbid
Nader from an appointment.

By the way, now that I think of it, maybe one way we can take advantage of
our location is advocating for appointments for our members. I believe a
former LNC member was considered for heading the FDA. I was considered
briefly for economic advisor to the Banking subcommittee in the house after
being recommended by a past chief of staff for the subcommittee chair.

These would be ways to get our members into offices, and to help them gain
experience and credibility for elective office.
