[Lnc-business] [Lnc-discuss] Motion to delay implementation of membership dues structure

Mark,

I vote to co-sponsor your motion. My reason for doing so is very simple -- I don't think we should raise dues at all. At least not until membership dues are decoupled from voting rights. As I've often said, we should not be a "pay-to-play" party. Nor do I think tinkering with our dues structure is a high priority, especially if it's going to cost us even $20,000, let alone $50,000. If a bad idea can't be defeated, better that it at least be delayed. Time that the previous LNC spent developing the dues increase proposal is water under the bridge and should not influence our decision one way or the other, since deciding that we don't want to implement their plan after all will not cost us any additional time, nor will moving to put it into effect give us back any of the time already spent.

Love & Liberty,
