[Lnc-business] LNC Member Blogging

It became clear to me that current content is the most important aspect of a
web site when the current LPCO candidate for governor, Matthew Hess, pointed
out to me that one of the most visited web sites (sans porn) in the world is
also one of the least sophisticated web sites in the world: namely the
"drudgereport". Reason: Current content, updated several times a day.

I suggest that, if necessary, this body direct the chair to direct staff to
allocate a specific amount of time and effort to posting pertinent material
(e.g. blogs or other writings) on the web site daily, regardless of source.
Decisions regarding exactly what writings, how much staff time, and specific
restrictions to keep staff time requirements to reasonable levels should be
the province of the Executive Director subject to review of the Chair and/or
the APRC as they deem appropriate.

We, the LNC, should not be attempting to micro-manage this effort. We
simply need to agree that our web site needs to present new and current
content on a daily basis. I think consensus on this is unanimous.

My language proficiency is limited to C++, so I doubt that anything I would
compose would ever pass muster for presentation on the web site. Therefore,
I am ambivalent as to my ability to submit writings for posting on the
"blog".

All,
Is there interest from LNC members in publishing articles on the official
Libertarian Party blog?

My understanding is that LNC members had done so in the past, but the policy
had been changed for a number of reasons and that was stopped.

If there is interest, I would be inclined to open it up to LNC members to
post, within certain guidelines, e.g. directly applicable to the Libertarian
Party, and in line with our overall messaging, positive, etc. Posts would
be subject to APRC review as well.

-Nick
