I am not against holding an LNC Session in Denver at some time during this
LNC term. Heck - it is a lot easier for me to fly to Denver than it is for
me to fly to Washington, DC or New Orleans. I would not be surprised if
the Chair would also support holding an LNC Session in Denver.
Regarding snow:

-snow-accumulation-averages.php
To my surprise, the number of days in December with 5 or more inches of snow
in Denver is a lot less than I thought it would be.
Summer thunderstorms will probably cause more weather problems in Denver for
the airlines than snow in the winter.
So - if we are going to meet in Denver, I would prefer doing that for the
LNC Session AFTER the probable one in New Orleans. March or April of 2015
should be after most of the snow, but before the summer thunderstorm season.

"May I suggest that Robert check out the following hotel:

This is a special situation. The hotel was built at the location of the old
Denver airport shortly before Denver decided to move the airport 20 miles
into the hinterland. Consider:
1> The hotel is still there.
2> It's a modern facility.
3> It's managed by a brand name firm: "Hilton Double Tree".
4> The AAA rate for the December meeting dates (just an example, as
advertised on the WEB) is $84 (+tax) a night.
5> The local neighborhood has been completely redeveloped following the
demolition of the old airport.
6> Hotel shuttle to/from the airport.
7> Denver airport is a hub for three major airlines (United/Continental,
Frontier, Southwest); lots of flights, lots of competition; low fares.
8> We do have winter storms in Denver, but then again, we have the
facilities and "know how" to deal with them.
9> Mountain time zone means you don't have to take Friday off in order
to get to the meeting.
Yeah! This is my home town. Because it is my home town, I am aware of the
situation. I'm sure there are many others out there. Let's make these
known to Robert, let Robert haggle, and I think we can get the cost of
attending (in both dollars and lost work time) down to more reasonable
levels.
