To respond briefly to Norm's points:
1) Yes, we are still below the reserve requirement, but we are in the
black again, have retired the convention bill, and are rebuilding the
reserves. The trend is positive.
2) This is incorrect. There is a particular argument related to
trying to get Mr. Patterson into the debate that was put forward. As
the debate has happened already, that argument is moot, but it also
gives us leave to amend the claims to pursue monetary damages and
address other constitutional claims that could not be part of the
emergency injunction.
3) Quitting before we finish out all the rounds of the fight can also
set an undesirable precedent.
4) I assure you that they would rather we not continue this particular
fight. KET looks very bad based on the existing state of the record
and will look much worse as the lawsuit continues.
5) He asked for help with specific information about emails that
showed viewpoint discrimination, making it a viable case. Not
everyone who asks gets told yes, but nobody who doesn't ask gets told
yes.
6) To be clear, this budget would come from the legal offense fund,
not the general fund and specific fundraising for that purpose will
continue.
