Yes, just as California checks, and all the other states where we stay
on because of our registration total...Alaska, Arizona, Colorado,
Delaware, Oregon. But registration is fairly static, and it's very rare
for it to decline when that states uses a voter registration form that
mentions us. Libertarian registration slowly goes up and up just about
everywhere, as long as we continue to be listed on the form. It only
declines in Massachusetts, where we went off the form in 2010 and have
not ever re-qualified.

But doesn’t the state of Maine check every year or so to see if a
ballot-qualified party still maintains 5000 registered voters?

No, I think he is asking how long our party status will last in Maine if
we get on.
The answer is complicated, but generally when we complete a registration
drive successfully, then we retain party status forever after. Assuming
we get recognized as a party in Maine , then the voter registration form
will have a checkbox listing us.
When the Green Party finally got its own checkbox on the voter
registration form, their registration shot up from 2,152 in November
2000, to 13,272 in November 2002. It has been rising every since,
because in all these years they have been the only ballot-qualified
third party. In November 2014 it was an incredible 38,180.

I am guessing that Mr. Olsen is asking when the registration test needs
to be met in Maine .

I assume it is in December of odd numbered years. Is that correct?

It would be helpful if, at the Executive Committee meeting, someone
could comment with some authority on the duration of the ballot access
which is to be achieved by this effort. That is, is it not likely that
with success here, we are likely to enjoy ballot access for one or
several future election cycles as well?
Dr. Lieberman: Can you help out here?
