"Motion: The Libertarian National Committee approves the (attached)
charter of the International Alliance of Libertarian Parties, seeks
admission to the International Alliance of Libertarian Parties as a founding
member, and designates Geoff Neale as our Representative to it.

Votes are due to the LNC-Business list by February 19, 2015 at 11:59:59pm
Pacific time."

If we pass this motion, not only are we approving the charter of the IALP,
but we are also designating a particular person as our Representative to it.

As board members of what is probably the most influential Libertarian Party
on the planet, we have an obligation to make sure that the LP member who is
appointed to represent us to the IALP is able to put our Party in the best
possible light.

I am concerned that the Immediate Past Chair of the Libertarian Party might
not be the best person for that job.

Please watch the video (1) clips on this web page, and ask yourself - will
our members be OK with the LNC approving this person as the best possible LP
member to represent the LP?

I ask those of you who have not yet voted on this motion to vote No. I ask
those of you who have already voted Yes on this motion to change their vote
to No - you have until Thursday evening to do that.

As the Secretary suggested, as soon as this motion fails, we can immediately
start another e-mail ballot to approve the charter of the IALP, and have a
simultaneous e-mail ballot that approves another person as our interim
representative to the IALP.

We can discuss this topic at our Arizona Session, or perhaps the in-person
LNC Session that we will have during the summer.

We can decide at that time whether to make the interim appointment
permanent, or to designate someone else as the representative.

1. They are actually audio clips with a still picture as the video filler.
All of the clips put together take less than 10 minutes to listen to.
