[Lnc-business] LNC intro to Adobe Connect

Brett Bittner is the only one who has indicated to me he could not make
either of my proposed times, so I'll just work with him individually to
make sure he has a chance to test it.

In a separate message I'll send this list an invitation for Saturday's
session.

The connection information will be the same for future sessions. (It is
possible for me to create more than one meeting room with different names
and links, but since we can only use one room at a time, I don't presently
see a need for that.) You can bookmark the link for future reference. It
will be the same link for future uses of this system. That means that if
you have to initially give your browser permission to use the webcam or to
use an add-in on this particular URL, you won't have to go through that
step every time (unless, of course, you choose to only give one-time
authorization to the browser).

At the bottom of the invitation, you will find a link from Adobe that
allows you to run a quick pre-test of your connection and software
versions. You can do that at any time of day. Passing the pre-test
doesn't catch 100% of the things that could go wrong, but if you have a
problem there, chances are high that you'll have a problem with the meeting
room also.

The meeting room is not open 24/7. A host (me) has to open the meeting
room before others can join.

Attached is a document that walks you through the steps you need to take
when you first follow the link to the meeting room. It explains that you
should sign in as a guest, and then run the meeting's Audio Setup Wizard to
select which (in case you have more than one) microphone and camera to use,
test your microphone volume, test your speaker volume, etc.

When you first join, even if you're having a little trouble, you may be
able to type in the chat box to get advice from those already in the room.
You may also be able to hear us, so we may be able to verbally respond to
chat box inquiries.

Once you get in, you'll find icons at the top of your screen for your
microphone and webcam. Green is on. Gray is off. Click the icon to
toggle between off and on. If you don't have the icons there, it means I
need to turn them on for you, so say something in the chat box to let me
know.
