[Lnc-business] E-mail Address Harvesting

I have to disagree. I find it quite implausible to blame the amount of spam
on our list as a devious attack by the Republicans and/or Democrats.
I believe the problem to be that the posted e-mail addresses are
insufficiently disguised. Developing a regular expression edit sequence to
convert this simple disguise into a viable e-mail address would take a
hacker about 15 seconds. (It took me about 2 minutes, but then I'm not
practiced in the art of web harvesting.)
Regular Expression: //{.*} at {.*} dot com//\1@\2.com//
I'm convinced that it is the relative simplicity of the disguise which was
used when the addresses were added to the web site that has initiated the
problem. Recoding the disguised e-mail addresses will eliminate our e-mail
addresses form existing harvested lists. The only solution is to change the
actual e-mail addresses. Of course, it makes no sense to change the e-mail
addresses if the harvesting problem is not solved.

As long as our e-mail addresses were only posted on this web page, and they
were minimally disguised as you can see:
http://www.lp.org/lnc-leadership
The spam problem was minimal.
As I describe in my e-mail, the spam increased by many, many times right
after this Board voted to post the e-mails from this list on our web site.

I'm not having issues with spam at my lp.org address, however I've not
served as long as either Mr. Olson or Dr. Lieberman.
It may also be beneficial to share that I have it forwarded to my Google
Apps-serviced domain, brettbittner.com , so I receive a significant amount
of spam filtering by Google.

You have to page down thru the spam example to find my comment.

Perhaps it's just me, if so please ignore.
All of a sudden, I am receiving a lot of spam on my LNC related e-mail
account. This is a recent development (last month or two), having been on
this list for five years now. I _suspect_ that the current web site posing
of my e-mail address, even though somewhat disguised, are now being
harvested.
Assuming that I am not the only one experiencing this problem, may I request
that the e-mail addresses on the web site be better disguised?
