"The Supreme Court issues opinions, not verdicts (except in trials, of which
they have very few).
NS"
That's why I put "verdict" in scare quotes.
"We will be out with a press release applauding that the position the
Libertarian Party has held for over 40 years is not the law of the land.
NS"
I assume you mean "now" the law of the land.
I thought the libertarian position was that selfish, power-hungry
politicians should not be able to issue marriage licenses at all.
In other words - leave the issuance of marriage documents to churches,
synagogues, and mosques.

Before the Libertarian Party congratulates the US Supreme Court for today's
Gay Marriage "verdict", the author of that press release or op-ed should be
ask the following question:
Does this "verdict" mean that Concealed Weapons Permits issued in Utah are
now automatically valid in the other 49 states and DC?
If the answer to that question is "No,", then I hope the author of said
press release or op-ed will further examine ALL of the implications of
today's Supreme Court "verdict" before celebrating this "verdict."
