I found Norms comments very educational and I agree we need to not be fixated at just the goal of 50 state ballot access. I also believe that if we can raise our strength in the states we do have, that the non-access states will eventually be compelled to include us as well or face the objections of their own citizens.
I think we have also been playing at this ballot access game long enough, that we should refine our ways of achieving it.
For example, in ancient times when Spartan was asked for their military help, Sparta did not send out masses of warriors, but instead just a single general who would wipe the locals into an effective fighting force. Maybe we could do something similar. Have one or more professional organizers/petitioners who could not only move into a state and collect signatures, but brow beat, push, whatever the locals into doing their share of work as well. Currently we make it far to easy for states to let "National Do It" instead of getting off their buts and doing some work. I will have to admit that has happened in my home state far to often. But when National got us the last ballot access, I gave them the promise we would run an effective state race and maintain it - which we did - at great expense and effort to our small number of members. I had also promised to myself, if we failed to achieve our goal, that I would bear the labor and expense of a 2016 petition drive, and not National.
So, whatever the EC decides tonight, I will support, but I hope they make that decision for rational reasons, and not just the dream of another meaningless state with ballot access for a party that elects very few candidates.
I think 38 states is enough for what we need to do, now lets start working on achieving our goal of getting candidates elected.

Just sending a reminder that the EC meeting detailed below is tonight. We should have relevant data on hand, including details such as:
total $ expended to date
raw signature count so far
valid signature count so far
progress report on the signatures the OKLP committed to providing
evidence regarding whether hiring a coordinator has substantially improved performance
etc.
