[Lnc-business] 2018 Convention site

Roland,
A few years ago I obtained a quote for a cruise-convention and made a
presentation to the LNC to demonstrate that financially it is a very
competitive option. Plus I think cruises are a lot of fun. The LNC at the
time seemed reluctant to even consider a different approach, even though
the numbers looked good. At first, I thought one board member was just
being funny when she said something to the effect of, "How many of our
delegates won't make it back?" As she continued speaking, it became clear
that she seriously thought some of our members would fall overboard. I
think a party that advocates personal responsibility shouldn't base
convention plans around the idea that our delegates are less responsible
than average humans. I don't think that's true.
