Below are a couple pieces of feedback that were posted in an IPR thread about Gary Johnson offering Mitt Romney a post in his administration, and a couple related ideas I'm proposing for the advisory board to consider.

> “I don’t think it’s fair to call it a ‘GOP’ slate, though.”
>
> You might want to take that up with the slate. First two lines of the first campaign video:
>
> “I’m Gary Johnson, Republican governor of New Mexico.”
>
> “I’m Bill Weld, Republican governor of Massachusetts.”
>
> Of course, in their most recent radio ad they didn’t call themselves Republicans. They called themselves independents. So you may have a point. But it still boils down to the Libertarian Party handing its ballot line over to SOMETHING besides a Libertarian presidential campaign.
>
> Like I said, oh well, maybe next time.
>
> Then again, this is the third time in a row. At some point, the conclusion that the Libertarian Party has no interest in being a libertarian party becomes difficult to avoid.

Suggested Advisory

We advise the Johnson/Weld campaign and Johnson and Weld themselves never to refer to the candidates as Republicans, and rather – when they feel compelled to mention it at all, which we encourage them to minimize – they refer to being Republicans in the past tense, e.g. the term former Republicans.

> Libertarian Nominees for Positions in the Johnson Adminstration:
>
> David Boaz – White House Chief of Staff
> John Stossel – Press Secretary
> Tom Woods – Chairman of the Federal Reserve
> Dan Mitchell – Director, Office of Management and Budget
> Mike Munger – Council of Economic Advisors
> Gene Smiley – Council of Economic Advisors
> Sheldon Richman – Council of Economic Advisors

Suggested Advisory

We advise the Johnson/Weld campaign to say that freedom matters, and that in a Johnson administration, defending freedom and the Constitution that is meant to safeguard it would be priority #1, therefore while they are open to finding roles for people like Mitt Romney or Bernie Sanders from the right or left, they will also want to bring in a good number of people from their own party and the larger libertarian movement who have a fresh "outside the Beltway" perspective.

Separately, come up with a list of names for the campaign of individuals whom we would recommend for cabinet positions and other posts in a Johnson administration.
