[Lnc-business] Labor Day Weekend - Good News and Bad

To open with the bad news: yesterday was the last day this season for
white shoes. I also must announce that, unfortunately, this will be the
final season for my favorite white loafers. They are no longer taking
polish the way they should, and haven't been for some time, but I've been
making do by covering the scuffs with white cream polish. Their time has
come. I hope to return next season with a new white shoe design, but for
now, it will be browns and blacks.

On to the good news: today, the Connecticut Secretary of State announced
that the LPCT is on the ballot in November for President! As you know,
Connecticut is not a challenge state, and every signature had to be
verified. As of this morning, they had verified nearly 9,000 valid of the
7,500 needed, and announced that we were on. The only remaining hurdle now
is substitution, and state chair Andrew Rule plans to be at the Secretary
of State office tomorrow to deal with that.

There are far too many people to thank, but I'll give it a shot. From the
national office, thank you to, in no particular order, Nick Sarwark, Bill
Redpath, Carla Howell, Wes Benedict, Robert Kraus, and Ken Moellman for all
your help in making this happen. I leaned on your help, advice, and
support throughout this drive, and it would not have succeeded without
you. A special thank you also to Daniel Hayes, Caryn Ann Harlos, Aaron
Starr, M Carling, and Jim Lark for your support and advice. Thank you to
Alex Snitker and Danielle Alexandre of Florida for your amazing sacrifice
in coming to Connecticut and working non-stop in the final days! Thank you
to entire Ballot Access Committee for your advice and support. Thanks also
to Brett Bittner who picked up my slack in other areas in the final days of
the drive.

On the ground, thanks are due to all our petitioners and coordinators, and
to the many LPCT board members who helped out, coordinated with SOTS,
helped with logistics, and contributed in other ways, including Andrew
Rule, Carol McMahon, Carl Lupinacci, Courteney Hough, Dan Reale, Jo Ann
Roeter, and the entire LPCT board. LPCT members turning in very strong
petitioning efforts included Mark Stewart and Vincent Arguimbau, thank you
both for your hard work!

Finally, on the campaign side, thank you to Jody Weitzman, who helped me
out every step along the way, generating volunteer leads, giving help and
advice, and distributing materials, and to Chris Thrasher, whose help in
the final days of the drive was invaluable.

I am working on my report to the Ballot Access Committee, and hope to
complete it soon.
