[Lnc-business] Fun with Clinton and Trump

For the most part I try to seriously focus on issues when talking with supporters of the statist cartel candidates about the election, but once in a while I can't resist getting in some digs...

Posted by a Trump supporter:

>> Time to lower the BOOM so Americans can make the right choice for President and puts things in perspective for all Americans!
>>
>> If your car broke down and you were stranded on the side of the road, who would you want to pass you by in the hopes they would stop and help you (Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton)?
>>
>> This question coverts [sic] the Hillary supporters every time to vote for Trump because the question is a dose of reality. If anyone thinks Hillary Clinton would stop to help you in any way shape or form you are fooling yourself! There are no stories of Hillary's random acts of kindness on the web and plenty of stories out there where Donald Trump helped more people than Hillary ever thought of helping...

The "coverts" typo made me smile, because I can well imagine some people wanting to be covert in voting for Trump out of embarrassment, and the word "covert" also seems apropos in proximity to "Clinton", given her penchant for secrecy. Anyway, my response:

> I'm torn. If my car broke down and I was stranded, I can't say whether I'd prefer to have Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump happen by. I do think Clinton might stop, if perhaps only because she's running for president.
>
> If she did, I imagine saying, "You want to help me? You mean the way you've 'helped' people in Iraq, or the way I've been 'helped' by the Obamacare system you want to keep in place, which is more broken down than this car? No thanks! With all the people who've died under mysterious circumstances after interacting with you and your husband, I probably would have been smarter to run away when I saw you coming! Don't you have some emails to be looking for? Please go away!"
>
> On the other hand if it was Trump who stopped and offered to help, I could tell him, "Thank you Donald, but I'm sorry I have to be the bearer of bad news. I realize you were looking forward to a good PR opportunity of helping a motorist in distress, but as it happens I am undocumented. If you want to take a few minutes to sit in your limo and think about that, and whether you prefer to anger your nationalist base and be a flip-flopper again by helping me get on my way, or anger most other people by being an asshole and just driving off or turning me in to the police, I understand. I'm not going anywhere – I'll just be here watching this video on my phone of one of the candidates you don't want to debate. Just honk if you're gonna come back over here to let me know, so my girlfriend can get back in the car and lock the door again first."
