I understand there is a Royal Caribean cruise that leaves 4 p.m. on the 30th. Is 4 days. Costs is $470 per person. I will pass on more info later.

Regarding a cruise after a National Convention, I don't know if people realize it, but Port Canaveral is within driving distance of Orlando, and many cruise ships leave from there. I've taken several cruises from Port Canaveral.. Vicki Kirkland

In regards to 2018 convention, I still would like it held on a cruise ship, but it has been pointed out by some, that there may be a few Libertarians who may not be able to afford a cruise and often have to camp out on park benches outside the convention. Therefore, as an alternative suggestion, how about having the convention in a port city, and at the conclusion of the convention, those who wish the experience of a Libertarian cruise, can all go on a joint 3-4 day cruise. On the cruise, we can meet with fellow Libertarians to make plans. We can also commandere available rooms to put on Libertarian programs and training. So, no cost to party, and we get to make double use of our air fair to the convention.
On reading over the various positions put on by our presidential candidates, I was reminded that one of the main Libertarian themes is "smaller government and more freedom." Yet, for our national convention I often hear, "if we are going to be a major party, we have to act like one and have a first class convention." So, we want smaller government, but bigger and more delux convention to get there???????
I think what we really need to do is show the world we not only talk the talk, but can also walk the walk. Which means we need to put on one hell of an exciting convention, and we do it at a fraction of the costs of the other parties. It means we have it so well organized we don't piss away hour after hour in meaningless motions, but we quickly get the work done and get into excitement and training. For instance, I would like to see each state compete on putting a 5-10 minute program on telling the Libertarian story. I would like to see singers and songs and banners and inspiring speeches followed by a long night of drunken debouchery (or whatever). I would like to see a convention that when we leave, we have a lasting memory and we just can not wait until the next convention comes along.

Hello All . . . I presume that we will be discussing the dates and venues of the 2018 Annual Convention in Phoenix; possibly even selecting a particular venue and the dates thereof. I would like to provide to my constituents a list of the possibilities so that they may provide me with some feedback as to their preferences. Details are not necessary. A simple list of the venues under consideration and the dates associated with each venue would suffice.
