[Lnc-business] website motion

If half the people that hated our website donated a dollar we would probably raise over $50,000. That won’t happen… Maybe we should put on our website a donation poll. IF you think our website sucks tell us just how bad with your dollars. We can use piryx so dollar donations still only cost us 4.5% or whatever our donation rate is with them. It can have one of the little bar meters so people can see it progress. Robert could have it set up in 10 minutes. All proceeds will go to the immediate revamping of our website to be designed by a top notch 3rd party design team. YES? If No? WHY?

We have a cash crunch because this board doesn’t ask and doesn’t take the steps necessary to take this party to the next level. There are billionaires out there waiting to donate to us as soon as we stop looking like Nickey Mouse, Mickey’s broke cousin. Asking our members to VOLUNTARILY pay for the website upgrade by a professional design team can only end ONE way. We raise money for the website. It will be restricted cash until we make the website. It might sit there on the balance sheet for 20 years, but it will go to the website once we actually pay for it. As soon as we raise $20,000 for this task, we pull the trigger on a redesign. We already have $10,000. Let’s stop talking about this website and get it done.

I'm not arguing about whether we should or can somehow create a high-quality website at a cheaper price than the $20,000 you are quoting. I'm worried that we simply don't have sufficient money readily available, no matter how desirable a goal it is. The LNC has decided to spend money on other projects, such as $100,000+ to get ballot status in Oklahoma. (I voted against that, not because it was a bad idea, but because of our extremely limited resources.) And we are planning expensive petition drives in many other states.

But unlike the government, we can't spend money we don't have. It doesn't help if everything is considered to be a top priority, and we refuse to make trade-offs.

But as a minimum condition, I'll only vote for it if I'm convinced that we have the necessary cash on hand and anticipated future revenue to remain financially solvent, and/or we decide to cut other planned expenditures to compensate.

Then we compute the consequences of the guess, to see what, if this is right, if this law we guess is right, to see what it would imply and then we compare the computation results to nature or we say compare to experiment or experience, compare it directly with observations to see if it works. If it disagrees with experiment, it’s WRONG. In that simple statement is the key to science. It doesn’t make any difference how beautiful your guess is, it doesn’t matter how smart you are, who made the guess, or what his name is. If it disagrees with experiment, it’s wrong. That’s all there is to it.” -- Richard Feynman (https://tinyurl.com/lozjjps <https://tinyurl.com/lozjjps>)
