The obviously difficulty with that is that states define when candidates
are required to file. Texas, for example, is the middle of December the
year before the election (I think it was 12/14/2015 this cycle). Point
being that would obviously cause an obvious obstruction to the process for
people figuring out what they want to do. Probably not the end of the
world, but it would be something to factor.
