[Lnc-business] Various items for your consideration

Dr. Lark,

As always, thank you for very detailed and thoughtful remarks, and your
gracious well wishes.

However, I have to disagree quite strongly on one point you made and that
being that anyone who did not receive a majority in the At-Large
nominations should not be considered. I believe that is extraordinarily
unfair to the candidates and the delegates. They were not allowed an
opportunity to even attempt, within approval voting, to obtain a majority-
and that was not their fault. I can speak as someone who intended upon
running for At-Large if I did not secure the Region 1 position, if I were
any of those candidates and did an active and thorough campaign, I would be
(justifiably I think) indignant if I were excluded based upon the LNC's
failure (for the buck stops with us) to adequately plan and prepare for
Party elections. This is ripe for the appearance of LNC over-reach since
it could be ensured that at least a number of positions would be
self-populated merely by allowing circumstances to arise in which the
delegates and candidates are denied their due.

I heartily concur with your suggestion of a status report from the
Johnson/Weld campaign.
