Hi Daniel,
Thank you very much for your Aug. 26 letter (below), and my apologies for the delayed reply.
On committee transparency, I couldn't agree with you more. Transparency of our operations in general remains one of my top priorities, and I'm in strong agreement with Caryn that this needs to be implemented with regard to LNC subcommittees. I hope yourself and other LP members who understand the importance of this will pay attention to who in the leadership may not be on board and let them know you expect them to vote for sunshine and bottom-up governance.
I also support having an LNC meeting before the election, and hope we will manage to arrange and hold an online meeting this month.
And I obviously share your disappointment that the stronger language that I proposed on the gun rights resolution was not adopted.
Are there any other resolutions or motions that you or others reading on the reflector list would like to see put forward? Don't hesitate to make suggestions, especially if they come with specific proposed language written in resolution form (Whereas...; Whereas...; Whereas...; Therefore...), or amendments to the LNC Policy Manual (the rules that the LNC has adopted to govern our operations on matters not covered by the Bylaws, online at http://www.lp.org/files/20160526_LNC_Policy_Manual.pdf ).
Love & Liberty,

P.S. – Please don't feel the need to call us distinguished or thank us for our service! It's not like there aren't other Libertarians who would be happy to have the opportunity to serve on the party's national committee. I think members like yourself deserve more gratitude for taking the time to pay attention to what we're doing and weigh in with valuable grassroots perspectives without having an official title or the same ability to vote on party business that we do as LNC members.

The current online/email votings do not meet the criteria for having my concern heard. I would also suggest to prevent this is the future that atleast during every 4 year General Election cycle that a standard meeting be held in August/September in order to address concerns the Party members have during these important elections.
