[Lnc-business] Status of GW2016 contributions to Ballot Access

I received this inquiry from a Region 1 member. He raises an important
point, particularly considering the situation in Arizona:

Caryn,

Regarding the exchange which takes place here:

<https://groups.google.com/d/topic/lncvotes/V4TIFSYAUTE/discussion>

A reminder that Weld promised not just funds for ballot access (which
benefits the candidates themselves at least as much as the party and in
some cases more) but also support for "downballot candidates for senate and
for us house, for statewide and state legislative races, both in
campaigning and with funds for ballot access". Don't forget, 50 state
ballot access for the Presidential race doesn't necessarily mean ballot
access for all races in that state. In Arizona for example the Presidential
race is guaranteed access while candidates in races of the other types
described by Mr Weld are effectively shut out.

One wonders if the campaign, in its forthcoming analysis regarding this
promise as indicated by Mr Moellman will make this distinction between
ballot access for themselves, and for downballot Libertarians, and whether
JW2016 could be persuaded to assist with the pending resolution regarding
Arizona. Would they give 1/2 of the $5000, so $2500 for legal fees for
example, and/or would they direct their legal team to prepare an amicus
brief and/or use their influence with ACLU and others?

For your convenience, here is a short (41 seconds) video clip of Bill
Weld's promise to the delegates in Orlando:
