[Lnc-business] Budget Increase Motion - Branding

I'll use the July 31 financials for further discussion, since that's the
latest completed and published.

As of July 31, we were $288,771 over budget on Dues and $195,755 over
budget on Donations.

Part of the benefit of that is that as of July 31, we were $306,506 over
budget on profit.

We could increase the budget revenue lines for dues and/or donations,
but those lines don't actually apply any constraints on our activities,
so as far as staff doing it's work, I don't think they matter that much
at least in the short term. We continue to go over budget on donations
and dues and perhaps at the next LNC meeting those numbers could be
adjusted to reflect reality, but they're not really critical to
short-term operational activities when we are over budget on revenue items.

If we were way below budget on a lot of revenue items, then we simply
wouldn't have the cash to spend on things regardless of what the budget
says.

So Sam, to answer your question " These all appear to be expense side
changes in the budget, where are the income side changes that would
balance them?"

The short answer is that we could increase the budget on the revenue
side as you've requested, it's just that it wouldn't matter much to me,
but would also be fine to me other than the fact that those items might
get discussed for a while and set things back.
