[Lnc-business] Candidate contracts - legal advice?

I like this idea. I thought about writing one up for my 2011 campaign on
my own, and just port it to my website.

I think it might be an interesting experiment to leave the numbers as
fill-in-the-blank. The seriousness of a candidate could be judged by
what they fill in.

It's my understanding that the 1994 Republican "Contract with America"
started out like this, except it said something about "if you break
campaign promises you agree to not run for re-election" or something
like that. But that part was removed.

Some include sponsoring legislation to cut spending to 1998 levels to eliminate the income tax, sponsoring legislation to cut military spending by 60 percent, sponsoring legislation to repeal the Patriot act, etc. The pledges are obviously voluntary.
