Note that the state statutes on this differ, and at least some provide a
rule similar to the one used by the Republican Party for votes cast by
bound delegates: they not only impose penalties on the elector, but
provide that faithless votes count as if they were faithful votes.
If not done in connection with a request that they break the law, it would
clearly be legal to fly people places to meet people. If an elector is
from a state which provides for penalties for faithless electors, if you
are flying them to meet people in connection with such a request, I suspect
that would be illegal.
