Sean, thanks for the useful review.

Nebraska is determined to build on our 100%+ increase in voter registration in the last twelve months by obtaining permanent ballot access. We intend to do it on our own but are open to strategy input from any and all.

Thoughts?

Here’s a good review. It’s Richard’s work via IPR. <http://independentpoliticalreport.com/2016/11/libertarian-and-green-parties-gain-qualified-status-in-some-states/> http://independentpoliticalreport.com/2016/11/libertarian-and-green-parties-gain-qualified-status-in-some-states/

2. Explore our options to make access easier for 2018/2020.

3. Determine priority of options and execute.

I would love to see states take on responsibility for their own access. Some states are probably ready to do it. Others are definitely not.

There will always be dysfunctional state affiliates. Even the Ds and Rs have those. The LNC will always have to step up in some places to make sure that we get 50+DC, if we want to have 50+DC. Obviously, the LNC wants to enable state affiliates to succeed on their own, but we must be prepared to jump in and run a drive.

We spent a lot of money this year. A lot. But given the preliminary results, I'd say it was worth it. Even though JW16 under-performed many expectations, we gained a lot of access as a party. I'm still compiling data, but I'm working to figure out how many states in which we now have access. I'm sure Richard Winger is doing the same over at B-A-N.

What is not being talked about is helping affiliates who just got ballot access. LPKY just got access for the first time in their existence. LPOK now has access. I'm sure there are others. We need to make sure they retain, and also don't run "bad" people on their lines.

Ken,

That is very encouraging, especially OK and TX. Those would have bee very

expensive to get done for 2018 or 2020.

I would like to see the Ballot Access Committee begin working now with those

states that don't have ballot access today to prepare for the next cycle so they

are less dependent on the LNC.

We are the Party of Personal Responsibility after all.

Not sure if it's the "best" but I'm watching Politico. http://www.politico.com/2016-election/results/map/president

Also it looks like we made it in TX. A few precincts left, but we're over 5% for RR Comm. https://enrpages.sos.state.tx.us/public/nov08_319_state.htm?x=0 <https://enrpages.sos.state.tx.us/public/nov08_319_state.htm?x=0&y=7631&id=591> &y=7631&id=591 (search for Miller, look at the percentage furthest to the right.)

And one of the most important - Oklahoma retained. We don't have to spend that $100,000 again!

We seem to have picked up some good states. I am adding it to the Ballot Access Committee report.
