[Lnc-business] April meeting locations

Sam,

However, the northern end of Tornado Alley is rotating east toward Indianapolis. That being, said we are used to diving for cover with an excellent warning system but it would be wise to choose a location in Indianapolis or Omaha and especially OKC with an adequate lower-level tornado shelter.

Thoughts?

David,

Unfortunately, Omaha also has a track record of huge tornado outbreaks in April as does OKC! Think of the harm done

to the LP for untold generations if a twister hit our meeting hotel!

Sam, kudos on your impromptu chili last weekend that stayed well within my gastronomical limits although I could swear that I saw Daniel sneak some Cajun firepower in his own serving.

In keeping with your excellent suggestion of Indianapolis as a good Midwest location for the Easter weekend LNC meeting, I would add Omaha to the list. Omaha has a proven track record on the simultaneous College World Series and Olympic Swim Trials plus their world-class Henry Doorly Zoo, Bob K…y Missouri River Pedestrian Bridge, Boys Town and Farmers Market, just to mention a few attractions. Steven Nekhaila also had a great suggestion of Sedona AZ for the April meeting. I heard others mention that it would be nice to see D.C. during warmer seasons but the weather was great in D.C. this past weekend. Pictures of the full moon rising over the capitol Monday evening were priceless.

Minneapolis/St. Paul, Denver, Portland and Seattle would be beautiful locations for the August meeting.

Lots of good choices for upcoming LNC meetings!

~David

Since you all enjoyed my impromptu chili last weekend, I've offered my home (assuming we've not sold it by then) for

a cookout if we have the April meeting at Indy. This could either be Saturday or on Sunday post meeting time depending

on everyone's outbound flights.

I had a similar event for the 2014 Platform Committee when our pre-convention meeting was in Indy that spring. We will have

plenty of transportation available between LNC members that drive in for the meeting and local members.

Downtown Indy also has a wide variety of churches for those that feel the need to attend Christian services that weekend.

In proposal lists I really would like to see the last dates were we in that state. We have not been in Utah in a really long time so please consider them for August.

By April, Indianapolis will have thawed and is in the middle of the country, as we move west from DC.

I'm sure that Mr. Goldstein and I could find some local Libertarians who would like to host.

What are the options here?

I know we will need to be meeting in LA to start viewing the convention site and I think that a good idea. If not LA, I would like to propose Denver. This is another area we have not been at in 8 years and has an excellent airport with wonderful art and Blucifer. I could get local party people to assist Robert in meeting space planning and tours of Denver if desired - or possibly even some other outing.
