[Lnc-business] Options for April meeting

I have a preference for whichever meeting location proposal does the best job including the following elements:

• Utilizing a meeting space that costs the party little or nothing
• A tie-in with some local activism that takes advantage of having a bunch of Libertarians present from out of town
• An effort to coordinate roomshares (and rideshares if needed) with locals, for those coming in from out of town and seeking to economize

The cost of a space doesn't mean only room rental fees, but also any requirement to buy food. On a personal note, I doubly object to the party paying for mediocre food without adequate veg_n options. Of the catered "lunch" provided by the hotel at our last meeting, I had only the salad, which was made with basically the least expensive ingredients available (mostly iceberg lettuce), and some bland rolls. To be clear, I don't think the membership should pay for the LNC's meals at all, but paying for substandard fare is even worse.

Many Libertarians see the Non-Aggression Principle as applying to some degree to the treatment of non-human animals. While most Libertarians do not apply this thinking to their diets, ensuring that the meals we pay for as an institution provide at least equal consideration for those who do choose to practice what may be seen as a stricter adherence to the NAP by avoiding eating meat and/or dairy is, I believe, the right thing to do.

Love & Liberty,
                                    ((( starchild )))

P.S. – Last month, the Libertarian Party of California met at a coffee shop in Berkeley, and didn't pay anything for the use of the space (see attached photo). While there was an expectation that some food would be bought, how much to spend on food/beverages if anythings was left to each individual. We should put out to our membership that we are looking for such venues.
