As an alternate, I can not vote on this however I DO want to weigh in. I fully understand why some are voting against this and agree that there needs to be a system in place for this. However, I do NOT feel that we should punish candidates for this committees failure to have already addressed this lack. If we agree that a system needs to be implemented and we KNOW that candidates will continue to reach out, we should in my opinion, address that lack of system in a far more timely manner so that we do not continue to face these types of "dilemmas" and in the mean time, we should not hamper candidates for our failure to do so

Sam I completely understand your position, and I certainly hope we come up
with criteria. But I understand you to mean that you are not opposed - as
Bill is- to assisting downticket campaigns, it is more that there are not
established criteria. I get that and empathize greatly. I just ask you to
consider that we are punishing a candidate for our inaction. If it isn't
the concept - but the criteria - I would ask that you apply your own and if
you could support Joe under a committee system that you support him here.
