We have received a number of messages from members regarding this issue, and I have gotten behind in replying. I don't know whether past Libertarian Party leaders ever "insult(ed) potential voting blocks", but I would disagree that the party leadership today has an "insult culture". Aside from the comments of Libertarian Party vice chair Arvin Vohra that you reference, which it's my understanding were made as personal comments and not in any official party communication, are there other comments made by party leaders or in LP communications during the past several years that you have in mind?

I'd much prefer the party or its leaders make the occasional remark at which its target(s) would take offense, than that we self-censor legitimate criticisms for fear of offending anyone. I will openly say, for instance, that I think president Donald Trump is a dangerously immature egomaniac (see e.g. https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2017/05/23/i-study-the-psychology-of-adolescent-bullies-trump-makes-perfect-sense-to-me/ )who is guilty of flagrant racism and sexual abuse (see e.g. http://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/trump ), and that Hillary Clinton and her husband are corrupt politicians likely connected to a long list of highly suspicious deaths of people whose premature demises appear to have been convenient for them (see e.g. http://www.clintonmemoriallibrary.com/body-count/clinton-casualties/ ). I'm sure a significant number of their respective supporters will find the preceding sentence highly offensive, but so be it. Nevertheless I do agree with you, as I've said before, that some of our vice-chair's remarks were ill-chosen. He has apologized for giving offense with those remarks, while not backing away from the underlying truth that prompted him to say the things he said, and I think his response has struck the right balance. I realize that you may disagree with me, but I have no intention of voting to remove him from office.

Often, local and state affiliates have different messaging and priorities from the national leadership. What I hope we all agree on is upholding the Non-Aggression Principle and advancing the cause of freedom for which purpose the LP was founded. It would be a shame in my opinion if you, or any of us, allowed our disagreements with a small number of specific individuals or their actions to take us away from the political party in the United States that is engaged in this vital work. But if you find you can't support the LP, there are many other freedom movement organizations out there doing valuable work, a few of which can be found at https://www.lp.org/liberty-links/ , and I encourage you to check them out and support those that you can.

That has changed in recent years and over the past several days our VC has gone from calling veterans murderers to disparaging those who are it, went to, or teach at colleges and those in law enforcement. This new insult the electorate strain of the party that has revealed itself over the past several years has caused me to stray fro being active in my local party and paying my LP dues.
