I agree with this idea, and am hopeful we'll see real results.
I don't consider the 2-for-1 rule to be proof, however, that he will reduce
the regualtory state. There are lots of ways to manipulate that. Depending
on what yuo count "one reg" to be, plus the fact that, even if you could
define that, some regs are 100 times more onerous than others.
The 75% promise seems a bit more likely to produce results, but also
subject to manipulation. What he should be promising is to remove 75% of
the BURDEN of regs.
THen there's the Republican's notorious unwillingness to actually cut
anything. Like Reagan/Bennett promising to eliminate the Dept o Ed.
That said, I'm happy to write a press release in a hopeful, praising tone.
