[Lnc-business] Email Ballot 2017-11: Military Members

After careful consideration, I have decided to vote "Yes" on the LNC's
resolution on military members.

My primary reason: the content is true.

Many have argued that the motion is likely to be misunderstood. That's
possibly true. Given that much of what I write is misunderstood,
deliberately taken out of context, intentionally misquoted etc., I don't
think that's a sufficient reason to vote against it.

The most problematic part, for me, is the part taken directly from the
platform. What it literally says can be taken as support for the
Libertarian position, or for the exact opposite. That part of the platform
needs work, and I will be advocating specific changes. On this, I hope that
many with military backgrounds will help advocate for improving this
platform plank.

However, I don't think the LNC should attempt to supersede the entire
convention to change this plank inside of a resolution.

I will continue to advocate for shutting down all foreign military bases,
bringing the troops home, no longer getting involved in foreign civil wars,
and cutting both taxes and spending. At the same time, I will work to end
the diseased culture of soldier worship that is used to manipulate so many
people into squandering the best parts of themselves on the worst parts of
the government's counterproductive immorality.

In Liberty,
