[Lnc-business] Email Ballot 2018-05: Suspension of Arvin Vohra

The automatic weapons comment, which was part of a general facebook
conversation on the topic that was going on across the political spectrum,
and included discussions by Republican candidates about repealing laws
against automatic weapons, indicates what automatic weapons are for. If
you'd like more ammunition for this, feel free to also listen to my podcast
from (I think) last week, maybe the week before in which I discuss
legalizing automatic weapons. My specific reason that automatic weapons
should be legalized is that they are exactly what are used by the
government. The government uses automatic weapons. Defense against the
government requires that we have access to the same types of weapons. I
also discussed that general idea on Punk Rock Libertarians last Sunday.
It's easy to find the exact time, since it's basically when the number of
likes skyrocketed.
I put the question to any LNC member who wants to answer:
1. Do you support legalizing automatic weapons? (I assume the answer for
most of you is yes.)
2. What are they for? Do you plan to turn a deer into ground venison
without using a food processor? What are those guns for if not for defense
against a tyrannical government?
I get what you're trying to do here, by weaving a narrative based on a joke
post, and connecting other posts to it. It's a great hit piece. I notice
that you chose to skip long and detailed posts about the power of
nonviolence, my specific and repeated insistence that nonviolent approaches
are both more moral and more practical. Posts on the topic of nonviolence
have been posted several times, both before and after. They have been, by
the way, specific, clear, and obviously not sardonic posts, that expressed
my clear opposition to violence, including morally justified or state
sponsored violence. I've lost track of how many times I've mentioned that
Dr. King and Gandhi showed that you can defeat the state without violence,
both on and off social media.
In terms of "Hunt Government" - that's a post taken entirely out of any
context, juxtaposed with an joke on literally a *different website*, to
create a narrative. On a daily basis, I use every kind of violent word
against government: dismantle government, smash government, shatter the
welfare state, demolish government, etc. The argument that "hunt
government" is now advocating shooting government employees is stretching
any kind of believability to the limit. That's like saying "demolish
government" is suggesting that we smash the heads of IRS employees (which,
since we're playing the over-literal game right now, I don't support).
I mean, what are we doing if not hunting government? Do we not seek to
dismantle or destroy it? That's the point of this whole movement. Our goal
is to hunt and destroy government. Not to hunt and destroy government
employees. Our goal is to just unemploy them. But if we're not trying to
destroy most or all of government, what are we doing?
I cannot imagine that I am the only person on this board who wants to tear
the IRS building down like the Berlin Wall. And before people take that out
of context, that is with the assumption that there are not people left in
the building before the aforementioned teardown begins.
I'll save Ms. Mattson and Ms. Harlos the trouble of finding some of my
other incendiary posts to take out of context, since I remember most of
them. There was a tongue-in-cheek discussion about recreational nukes one
night. I posted that if I were a private nuclear power, no one would ever
have to pay taxes again. In context, it landed a bit better than the mewe
joke did. I was not advocating a nuclear holocaust. I was illustrating that
if the people have as much power as government, government has to earn
money by selling services. It cannot just take money, if people are as
powerful as the government.
There have been about a thousand posts about ending all gun laws, most of
which have been followed by some point about guns being used for defense
against the government, not for hunting.
During my discussion of the military hypothetically being used as an enemy
of the people, where every sentence I posted was microanalyzed, I described
the following scenario: Suppose the government was engaging in some kind of
tyranny, and suppose the citizens were able to defend themselves against
the police. The military would be the backup called to the police's aid.
Earlier today, I shared (or maybe just liked, I don't exactly remember) a
post about 1776, which shows the Redcoats facing the Americans, and it
talked about how a group of drunk libertarians defeated their government.
It was a pro second amendment post.
Now, to help you guys out, I'll do what Ms. Mattson did, and string that
together, out of order, with a narrative.
1. Arvin Vohra posted about the American revolution, in a post describing
that guns were used against the federal government of the time.
2. Arvin Vohra has said that automatic weapons should be legalized because
that's what the government has.
3. Arvin Vohra has also participated in the common "legalize recreational
nukes" facebook trope.
Therefore, Arvin Vohra is advocating nuking America, or possibly Britain.
If your goal is to suspend me for my actual views, I've given you plenty of
ammo. I oppose military enlistment, and see no difference between state
approved killing and killing. I believe that our doctrine of self ownership
means that the state has no say in the age consent. I've argued that
military, police, and government school use should be stopped at the
individual level, by not enlisting. I've extended that to say that being a
part of any of those organizations is a moral failing.
I've said a few hundred times things to the effect of "Real parents provide
for their kids; they don't just have the state steal on their behalf," and
other equally sardonic posts against government education and government
funded education. The list of my controversial views is extremely long.
There is no shortage in the variety with which I have mocked, degraded, and
belittled the state's sacred cows (military, police, and government
schools).
But I do consider this current situation absurd. I don't support violence.
I never have. I have no intention of starting.
However, I as I mentioned in my video, we have many representatives who
support state violence - not just military violence, but violently forcing
people to pay for childcare via government schools. They aren't joking or
kidding. They aren't saying, "Public schools are part of the social
contract, jk haha lol." They are just saying, "It doesn't matter if you
don't like it. You have to pay for public schools. It is okay to force you
to if you don't want to."
Do whatever you feel is right here, but I hope you will be as assiduous in
handling candidates, elected officials, and representatives who actually,
seriously support using state violence to force people to fund the welfare
or warfare state.
Respectfully,
Arvin Vohra

Arvin,
You tell the LNC that you don't actually advocate for violence
against
the state or its employees, and here you say something that
sounds
reasonable like "the Second Amendment is there to protect us from
government."
What you post on social media is quite different, though.
There's no
way to reconcile that with your postings like the following two
public
examples on your Facebook account on 03/29/18:
"Hunt government."
and
"Now that I'm on mewe and don't have to worry as much about
getting
kicked off facebook:
1. I love automatic weapons.
2. I recommend that you buy automatic weapons.
3. They aren't for hunting deer; they are for hunting the
government."
Hunting is not a defensive activity. The MeWe post was not an
isolated
comment, and combined with these two Facebook posts it's all very
disturbing.
You can't fool me into believing these are "jokes". The two
posts
above are not on MeWe where you claim there is a different vibe
which
allegedly justified that other post.
I can't believe I just spent the time to even argue this with
you, as
though this is a rational discussion...

What you've written is false. The joke I made, and admitted was

The
"rant" to which you are referring indicates that the Second
Amendment
is to protect us from government.
Perhaps you believe the Second Amendment is about hunting
licenses.
However, I do not believe that I am the only person in the LP,
or
on
the LNC, who believes that the Second Amendment is there to
protect us
from government.
If the LNC wants to make a statement that the second amendment
is
not
about protecting ourselves from the state, then you wouldn't
need
this
rigamarole. I'd resign from any organization that thought that.
However, I strongly doubt that the majority on the LNC, or
anyone
on
the LNC for that matter, believes that gun rights are not about
protecting ourselves from the state.

You have displayed a persistent inability to accept

In the past I have consistently defended the morality and
