[Lnc-business] proposed changes to membership program

Motion seeking co-sponsors: 

“Move to contribute $5,000 to the Nebraska Unicameral 2018 District 32 re-election campaign for Senator Laura Ebke, and increase expense line 60-Candidate, Campaign & Initiatives by $5,000.”

Writing in favor: I have long advocated that LP institutions offer small symbolic seed contributions to encourage bottom-up fund-raising by candidates and project initiators. This proposed contribution meets that criteria. Like Larry Sharpe, Senator Ebke has inspired us with her astounding fund-raising acumen and, along with Larry, set the standard for Libertarian candidates. While we are waiting to roll out our candidate support criteria committee, if there ever was a legitimate contribution to a serious, dedicated, and ethical Libertarian candidate in a critical race with a good chance of WINNING, this is it.

If this proposal can be handled more expeditiously at the upcoming April 21-22 LNC meeting in Denver, I will happily withdraw the motion.
