[Lnc-business] LP Press Coverage: 405 New Results

The attached shows lots of press coverage for Libertarians.

Every once in a while, Meltwater or other clipping services sign us up
for free trials and start sending us daily emails with links to dozens
of mentions of Libertarians, often with hundreds of thousands or
millions of total "reach." Some services include TV and radio clips as well.

Most of the mentions are because we have candidates. Without the
candidates, Libertarian coverage in the press would drop dramatically.

The more candidates we run, the more free publicity our candidates,
party, and the word "libertarian" gets.

If we stopped running candidates for governor, congress, and mayor of
large cities, and focused primarily on non-partisan winnable races and
tiny winnable partisan races, I think the Libertarian Party brand would
shrink dramatically.

It continues to be my preference and strategy that we maximize the
number of candidates running both in "winnable" races, and races where
winning the election is a long shot.

Often, the claim that running too many candidates spreads our resources
too thin. I understand the logic, but think it's incorrect. I think our
state affiliates that run lots of any kind of candidate are our most
active and successful, not just with candidates, but with other
activities as well, such as promoting issues and other advocacy.

Thanks,
