Here is the Regional Representative tip sheet I had previously sent with
some updates.  This is a great tool for connecting with your state chairs.



LP NEWS FOR REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES

LP News is a great way to encourage your affiliates to become more involved
with national by submitting affiliate updates and news.  I will be
reminding you on the LNC List when LP News submissions deadlines are coming
up so that you can remind your states. Your state chairs will already have
been notified via the State Chairs mailing list.

For example, when I was Region 1 representative, I would take the
opportunity to reach out to the chairs to remind them and open up a dialog
on items of local interest to them.  This is a value-added task that many
state chairs appreciate.

When speaking to your chairs, have a few examples of past reports to show
the type of items that are being requested.  Always encourage them to
submit high-resolution photographs (300 dpi or higher) as activists love
seeing their pictures in LP News.

LP News is also useful for you in another way--it provides a source of
information for your regional reports.  When preparing your report, review
the past issues to see items of import that happened in your states.
