[Lnc-business] Cancellation Request

Unless/until the person being targeted for suspension (Arvin) proactively writes to the list and tells us that he wants the meeting to occur in order to be able to defend himself orally rather than just in writing, I am joining David in requesting cancellation of the electronic meeting scheduled for Friday, Feb. 2.
We already have a motion for censure being voted on; if that passes and anyone still wants to pursue this further, we have an actual in-person meeting already scheduled before the convention at which members can take up the matter if they choose. If the motion for censure doesn't pass, it seems unlikely that a motion for removal would pass either; thus either way an electronic meeting will be a waste of our time (except of course if it is requested as a matter of due process as noted above). I'm not crazy about the Friday night timeframe either, but that's a lesser issue.

P.S. – Being unaware of any fix so far to the email list issues, I've experimented in this message with inserting boldface and italics tags around a phrase and a word, to see whether they render the content properly, either on the LNC list and/or in the archives for those who may be reading there.

Further, the organizational remedy for the fact that Libertarians that have allowed themselves to be upset with Mr. Vohra's comments lies with the body that elected him, namely convention delegates. The emotional remedy lies within the individuals that are responsible for their own behavior, including their out-of-control emotions.

Libertarians, of all people, should know that we are individually responsible for our personal emotional and intellectual (or lack thereof) behavior in response to the Vice-Chair's comments. Arvin is responsible for his own actions that were not forced upon him. Likewise, Arvin did not force his detractors to react or overreact. The blaming of Arvin for individual overreactions is just that, a human weakness to not take responsibilities for one's own behavior. Arvin-detractor overreactions have constituted the fuel for this out-of-control lynch-mob conflagration.

Sitting around blaming Arvin for our personal emotions and behavior will not bring about a rational and fair-minded solution to this matter. The mad rush for suspension is a cop-out for taking responsibility for our own emotions, as is usually the case with 'Me Too Mob' mindless pile-on bandwagon character assassinations that we witness every day in the traditional media, ad nauseum. Surely, we Libertarians are better than that.

Or should we put the gun down, deescalate, cancel the electronic meeting, return to some semblance of dignity and rationality, and get back to Libertarian business. It appears that there was some difficulty in rounding up six members to call for the electronic meeting in the first place. Perhaps a majority do not want to shoot the LNC in the other foot, If so, I call upon you to wisely and courageously request CANCELATION of the electronic meeting to stop this destructive, cruel and senseless farce; and get back to being rational, thoughtful and just Libertarians who take personal responsibility for our own behavior and feelings.
