Anything that involves co-mingling personal funds with party funds is a
situation which should be avoided. It could also be perceived as hiding
from the FEC the true source of donations.

My hunch is that even if a legal means existed, it's probably not
worth the trouble.
I'm not the legal authority, but I'm concerned that the LNC is not
allowed to accept profits from Steemit, and if revenue from Steemit
was accepted, it would be considered income perhaps reportable to
the IRS and/or the FEC, perhaps by the individual and/or the LNC.
My suggestion is to stick with the non-monetized option until you
start thinking we're talking about over $1,000 per year.

My question would be, how is a record made public of the funds, to
ensure that it does all go to the historical committee work? If it's
your account, how do others know what was taken in, and then
disbursed
to the historical committee? Also, if you're the chair of the same
committee, who keeps track of the records? Is there a way for the
entire
historical committee to see the incoming funds?

Hello everyone, I have a steemit account. If you don't know what
that
is, in a very simple form, it is a social media sharing site in
which
you earn crypto for posting, upvoting, etc. Some people make
large
amounts of money there. I do not. I think my highest post
earned
.65
cents because I am not there for that but it is possible one day
that
one will take off, you never know.
But here is the question. I would like to post some of the
historical
materials there to raise awareness and interest in the LP and
its
history. I, however, do not wish to make any money off of
straight
posting of videos etc with no original analysis or content.
There
is
an option to turn off monetization of any post, so I can always
do
that. But it is possible that these posts could generate
interest -
so
to the question, if monetization was kept on would there be a
conflict
or issue if I did that to raise money for the Historical
Committee?
The money would go to me as it is my account, and then I would
personally donate it. Realistically we are probably talking
about
probably under $50 in a year.
Would appreciate some guidance here. For the time being, I am
setting
any repost of historical videos to monetization off. But if I
could
raise funds for the committee I would love to.
