[Lnc-business] I am very very disturbed

As the saying goes, not my monkeys. But seeing as I'm still on this list
for the time being...I wasn't there, but I agree with the points made,
assuming my inferences about how things must have gone are correct. Which,
obviously, has nothing at all to do with outcome. I also agree that, with
Presidential nominations last, the body will not simply leave that not
done. I will point out that I attended the NAP convention last year. It is
smaller, but not on an entirely different scale. Elections, with many
candidates, took 10 minutes per ballot or so. The LP needs to adopt a
better method of balloting and counting.

I also agree that we have, to our detriment, deemphasized conducting the
party's business at our convention. I also acknowledge the difficult spot
the CoC is in, and I'm not saying I could do better. I am saying that, if I
could start from scratch, with no history or other issues, I'd build the
convention around the conduct of business. But we can't start from there,
and I'm not sure I know a good way to move us in that direction.

I do not agree that we need longer conventions. We need more efficient
conventions, particularly when it comes to elections.
