[Lnc-business] Email Ballot 2018-11: ACKNOWLEDGE ELECTION OF JC

Apparently some of my emails have been responding directly to a person rather than the list.  Ugh.  Not going to track down the rest of them at this time. But I will resend this one to the list rather than one person.

Well then your region rep can vote that way, that is what I would expect if your region feels that way.  I would not even argue that you are wrong.
I disagree on your rules interpretation though.  Assuming for the moment the "cascade" as you call it is correct, then lets apply some logic.  The bylaws state that the JC is elected the same way as At Large.  Even before any of this craziness.  So given that, before there were still 5 at large offices and 7 JC. Yet they were still elected the same way.  Therefore your 5 vs 7 objection does not apply. At any time.  It merely falls back again to the "cascade".  It either applies or it does not.

I was willing to consider the 5 v 7 solely on the basis of closure and healing, but logically it is a non starter.

Here in lies the problem: I have just as many emails saying the
opposite. There is a split, and where a split exists, we should err on
the side of caution, not expediency. Plus, there is no way we can do top
seven regardless of what any state chair or executive committee wants.
The rules were only suspended for top 5, if we do say that it cascaded,
but again, I am telling you that it cannot cascade, as we adjourned
before addressing the JC. Ergo, our rules say that a majority must be
done.

Apparently some of my emails have been responding directly to a person
rather than the list. Ugh. Not going to track down the rest of them
at this time. But I will resend this one to the list rather than one
   person.
Well then your region rep can vote that way, that is what I would
expect if your region feels that way. I would not even argue that you
   are wrong.
I disagree on your rules interpretation though. Assuming for the
moment the "cascade" as you call it is correct, then lets apply some
logic. The bylaws state that the JC is elected the same way as At
Large. Even before any of this craziness. So given that, before there
were still 5 at large offices and 7 JC. Yet they were still elected the
same way. Therefore your 5 vs 7 objection does not apply. At any
time. It merely falls back again to the "cascade". It either applies
   or it does not.
I was willing to consider the 5 v 7 solely on the basis of closure and
healing, but logically it is a non starter.

   OF JC
Here in lies the problem: I have just as many emails saying the
opposite. There is a split, and where a split exists, we should err on
the side of caution, not expediency. Plus, there is no way we can do top
seven regardless of what any state chair or executive committee wants.
The rules were only suspended for top 5, if we do say that it cascaded,
but again, I am telling you that it cannot cascade, as we adjourned
before addressing the JC. Ergo, our rules say that a majority must be
done.
