An email list however is required for voting and vote debating per
Bylaws as it specifically says email.
But for workshopping etc a forum is perfect and I already am well

I agree.
I managed a vbulletin forum for over a decade.
And members can get email notification or digests - just like
this.
Richard, I’ll take the lead on this and get volunteers to set up
a
proof of concept.

All, I again suggest a php forum if anyone knows anything about
getting one setup or knows someone who doea. We would each have
an
account and it would be open for anyone to view even if they
are not
a member. A member is defined as someone who can post and
interact
in the group. Further on phone forums you can set access levels
so
if there was say some reason for executive session discussion
that
we did not want public (for a variety of reasons - legal for
example) we could restrict viewing access to just that area.
I'm talking basic early 2000s web programs here.
I don't mind assisting and or doing research to figure it out but
I
have tried to set these thing up in the past and it is beyond my
skillset. I get lost once individual profiles need to be made -
I can
only do basic web design. If want to stick with email, ok,
however it
is clunky and difficult to capture the true flow of conversation
sometimes.
I strongly believe forums, php or otherwise, might be a really,
really
good option for us. Old fashioned, sure but effective. Forums
literally
emerged in order to help organizations not email so much and to
help
facilitate easily viewable discussion. We should all be somewhat
familiar with how they work already as well which is another
plus.

I am not going to force anyone to conform to my

the job. If we met more often, there would be less emails.
As I

I try
to

hard.... Though I still try.
I don't mind the 68 email from Caryn Ann. I don't mind the
snarky
emails from Sam Goldstein. I don't mind the well-thought
and
generally diplomatic emails from Alex Merced or Joe
Bishop-Henchman. I get annoyed, however, with the
constant
belittling and berating from some on this list towards
others.
I
sure would love to see everyone working together in a
generally
civil manner. I hope as we get to know each other in
person at
LNC
meetings the manner in which we interact online changes.
Because the
lack of tolerance I see for like-minded individuals in
this
group is
barely tolerable for me. Sure, I may not want to be
tolerant
to
Libertarians running for office expressing support for the
use
of
force to usurp property from property owners, and I feel
our
body
(or preferably our Chair) should make a statement against
such
things (especially when aid candidate is going to do
interviews
on
RT or other media networks), just as I would expect my
Chair
(or
this body) to make a statement against a Libertarian
candidate
supporting a eugenics program.... But, in general, I am
usually
pretty tolerant, and hope you'd all be tolerant. But
sometimes
I
wonder.... Just my two cents...
