Dear LNC,

As I stated in my in the initial vote, my door would be open for the entire LNC and Membership to discuss many of the strong emotions and sentiments on both sides of this motion.

In doing so I have decided to change my vote to Yes. Although in doing so I want to reaffirm the following.

My door is open to everyone on anything you think is important for the LNC to consider. I do encourage people to reach out to me so I can be an ally in your efforts. Although, as originally stated if a motion seems rushed or creates an environment where good faith disagreement can't be had I'll be pushing against it.
I've spoken to many of you on both sides and from the members of this body, all I've seen is good faith and passionate sentiments behind every vote. I ask that members who read this please respect my fellow LNC members and realize disagreement isn't and shouldn't be personal or an end to a conversation.
I hope that in the weeks to come we can continue to focus on committee assignments and candidate support as I've seen so many exciting candidates make exciting moves and hit amazing milestones, to members reading please find the entire list at LP.org/candidates.
So hopefully, with all these lessons learned I want to show my appreciation for those whose passion for our core values led to them to putting forth this motion with my vote. While this motion may not be passed I want you to know I have heard your concerns and hope we can ALL forward together on the work that needs doing.
I also reiterate my statement the other day regarding people vs ideas. As a party we are always inclusive of people who want to be part of what we’re building, but I hope those people in their participation in the exchanges of ideas with other members always come closer to our core values and further away from bad ideas that revolve around the compulsion of others and closer to the non-violent individualist world that I know our diverse membership wants to march towards through the success of our party.

In Liberty,

Alex Merced
Vice Chair of the Libertarian National Committee/LP
