Much much better. I have a question though - why so many LNC members? We
are stretched thin and there are many many members who want to help. I
would like to see committees - particularly ones with absolutely no budget
- to be member ran with the composition of that committee approved by the
LNC not just the LNC chair (if we reduced the LNC membership of the
committee - if kept as it is right now, only approval by the Chair is
necessary).
The Historical Committee - which actually HAS a budget has NO required LNC
members. Why are we not moving towards that model?
tldr; I am likely to vote against if the number of LNC members is not
reduced. We can always volunteer to be appointed. I would like to see NO
required LNC members.

My intention is to create a committee that want to help provide
some
extra hands to the staff in Membership related tasks and fact
finding
(making thank you calls/emails). Since this can be quite a wide

-------------------------
Membership Support Committee
Create a Membership Support Committee consisting of four LNC
members or
LNC alternates and three non-LNC members of the LP. The LNC
members of
the committee are elected by the LNC and the non-LNC members are
appointed by the LNC Chair based on recommendations from the LNC
members of the committee. The LNC Chair will appoint an Interim
Chair
of the Membership Support Committee until a permanent Chair can
be
elected by its’ members.
The Membership Support Committee will seek to find ways to
support LP
staff in matters of membership growth and retention. The
committee
will submit a report of its activities at the 2nd and 4th LNC
meetings
each year.
