[Lnc-business] Policy Manual Amendment, regarding the hiring of a new Executive Director

I have several problems with this proposal including having a majority
of non-LNC members on a committee to hire the party's ED, the sheer size
of the proposed committee and the problem of non-LNC members dealing
with confidential employment matters (would they be required to sign
NDAs?). The proposal also does not define how the LNC and non-LNC
members of this search committee would be selected.
The LNC's job is not to micromanage the administrative functions of the
party but to set policy and goals. The Chair, at his discretion, may
appoint a search committee to help with hiring a new ED and the LNC can
still block any non-satisfactory hire by a simple majority.
I would oppose this motion in its current form.
