Hi all,

The national party spent a lot of money leading up to Election Day, on
important things including ballot access, candidate recruitment,
candidate support, the national convention, affiliate support, and more.

We are in a financial crunch right now as we work to pay off some of
those bills, like the Hyatt.

I begin my tenure as interim ED tomorrow. Over the last couple of weeks,
Robert Kraus and I have worked to make adjustments where possible to
both raise more money and to reduce costs. For example, previously, LPHQ
has a cleaning crew visit twice per week. We've cut that back to once
per week.

I'm focused on getting our financial crunch resolved ASAP so we can move
into the new year on a more solid financial footing. I think the first
quarter of 2019 will be very good for us in terms of revenue/fundraising
but this fourth quarter of 2018 is challenging.

To help with this, Robert and I have started a matching campaign. We
each gave $500 to the party today, and are asking others to consider
matching us. So far, Tim Hagan, Bill Redpath, Steve Dasbach, and Shane
Cory have pledged to join us, by giving $500 each. Thanks to each of
them for helping so generously. Each of us is giving because we want the
party to finish paying off our 2018 investments and start preparing for
aggressive campaigning in 2019.

Please consider if you can join us in this matching campaign. If you can
do $500, that would be extraordinarily helpful. If you can do more, or
less, that is also very much appreciated and helpful. If you can pitch
in, please do so at LP.org/donate.

As always, many thanks.

Lauren
