Well what fun filled email box to wake up to. Going to tr.1. Trying do too many things at once I misread the year. 1984? I despise racism, but I also have advocated for all sorts of limits on how long convictions can be used against someone. So now I have a personal conflict. Not enough to withdraw sponsorship, but I will be thinking hard on my vote.2. Caryn Ann I am unaware of those infanticide comments you refer to as well. Send me some info? PM is fine if its easier. If true I would agree that being a higher priority3. Alex has some good points on wording.Meh. Type all that out then see JBH's last email. Whereas, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has belatedly acknowledged that
he and another adult dressed in blackface and a Ku Klux Klan outfit,
took a photo of this, and published this photo in his medical school
yearbook spread in 1984, long after such conduct was even arguably
acceptable; and
Whereas, engaging in actions that intimidate or threaten individuals on
the basis of race should disqualify that person from holding any office
of trust; and
Whereas, Governor Northam fails to understand the deep pain that such
images evoke for many Americans; and
Whereas, the Libertarian Party condemns bigotry as irrational and
repugnant; and
Whereas, many Virginia and national Democrats are demanding the
resignation of their Party’s governor, and their national committee
should put partisan loyalty aside and do the same; and
Whereas, Republicans should join this stand as well;
Therefore, be it resolved that the Libertarian National Committee calls
upon the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National
Committee to join us in condemning the behavior of Virginia Governor
Ralph Northam and demanding his resignation.
