Good afternoon,
Thanks for all the hard work you guys are doing to keep up our social media presence. It is the most accessible communication tool we have, and it's also an important tool for reaching the younger generation, and as a result we may have to employ some volunteers from the younger generation who may lack the wisdom of experience and therefore will need supervision. Discretion is the better part of Valor. Our social media activity has a bumpy track record as it is, and I suggest we need to raise the standards for being allowed access to our accounts, immediately terminate access for those who don't consistently meet strict standards, and focus on long term planning regarding specific topics for targeted audiences in between relevant breaking news stories.
It is my regret to report that I have recently received some (unsolicited) complaints or casual mentions from Region 8 referring to our social media presence in the past few days, specifically:
-a post supporting proposed legislation on Cannabis in Rhode Island which is, in fact, a very anti-liberty expansion of power, government, and unreasonable taxation, the article we posted even says they are just legalizing it because geographically they can't control it. https://www.facebook.com/5978057725/posts/10156949016457726/
-Yesterday, a post using Nelson Mandela, whom some libertarians characterize as a violent communist revolutionary responsible for the deaths of innocent civilians, (or, at the very least- not a supporter of libertarianism) https://www.facebook.com/5978057725/posts/10156955694947726/
-a lack of relevant LP news or posts supporting our own candidates and affiliates, especially William Hunt who is actually favored to win a Special Election for State Representative in Rhode Island in less than two weeks.
The incumbent State Rep endorsed Billy Hunt in November 2018 after choosing not to run in the face of well-funded newcomers, but after all the finance scandals resulting in this special election, he is now running as an Independent and splitting the Democratic vote, which is a GREAT advantage to Hunt.
There will be a DEBATE on Monday night (FEB 25, 2019) with all four candidates, three of whom are far-left Progressives.
This is big news and on the evening of Tuesday, March 5th when the polls close, it will be a huge embarrassment for the LNC and for me personally, if we miss this opportunity to demonstrate our ability to elect Libertarians, and instead letting YAL Operation Win at the Door do it for us.
I would respectfully request that we try to repost / retweet and share our audience with the Billy Hunt campaign and other local affiliates when we are looking for fresh content.

Lastly, here is an example of a post which I received unsolicited POSITIVE feedback from friends of mine outside our chambers who are not highly passionate about politics, and it reached them and resonated with them in a meaningful way because people "stole" and reposted it. This is great work on original content.

If we are in need of higher quality social media volunteers, I would love to propose Matthew Hudson who was the social media and marketing advisor for Dan Fishman's campaign last year, and by day he is a graphic designer who manages advertising purchasing including social media management for a chain of Auto sales lots. He is exceptionally talented, highly motivated to volunteer his free time, and still is my go to consultant for maximizing reach across multiple mediums. The Libertarian Party of Massachusetts owes him significantly for his participation in securing our Major Party status and Ballot Access through 2020, and he has expressed interest in volunteering nationally. Please allow me to connect you to him.
Thanks everyone for all the hard work that you do for the Liberty of Others.

A few months ago, Jess Mears was assigned by Nick to be our social media

She's in the process of reviewing applications from volunteers to help
improve the content and scheduling. This is a high priority for her.
