Ms. Harlos,
1. The debates must be open to all declared Libertarian candidates.
2. The debates must not use underhanded or indirect methods to keep out
particular candidates (e.g. setting the debate at a time that would be
bizarre for some U.S. time zones)
3. The debates must not suffer from majorly distracting audio issues,
including feedback, heavy static, and the like.
So if there are over 20 declared candidates, as with the Democrats
currently, who is going to keep track of them to make sure they were all
included, as required in #1, in a dozen or more debates.
Read #2 and tell me it is not totally subjective. Who is going to take
the time to make those judgments for every debate that someone stages
over the next 22 or so months? Lauren has already said that staff has
many other priorities and the LNC is not in the business of setting
standards for other people or entities.
I'm honestly surprised that you would co-sponsor such a potential
fiasco.
