It's only our candidates for presidential elector who must file early.
The candidates for president and vice-president technically aren't
candidates. And the Democratic and Republican Party national
conventions are even later than the LP presidential convention.
Democrats probably won't know who their vice-presidential nominee will
be until their national convention or perhaps a few days before. So
we're covered.

Hey everyone. I’m going to copy an email I received from Ryan Graham of
Georgia concerning their presidential filing. I have added Ryan and Cara
Shultz to this message so that hopefully someone can help them get their
concerns heard and questions answered.
“Hey Team,
I wasn't sure who to reach out to about this, but we have some concerns
with new laws down here in Georgia. Our candidates are now required to
file much earlier than in the past, at the same time as the Republicans
and Democrats are filing for their primaries. It caused some confusion
down here in 2018 with us showing up on the qualified candidates on the
SOS site for the General election before anyone else.
In 2018 our filing was March 5-9. We had to have our state convention in
February to insure our candidates had time to get on the ballot. I
anticipate a similar scenario for 2020. My concerns are around our
Presidential candidate, whomever they might be. If we won't have our
candidate until May, I worry it may be too late.
Please look into this and make sure we'll be able to get our
Presidential candidate on the ballot in Georgia.

Again thank you for all you do and for all the help you can provide Georgia.
